Bitcoin Price Holds Up

Bitcoin adds gains as US stock markets drop a record $3.5 trillion in value since the new tariffs were announced. Most investors still believe that Bitcoin will continue to have volatility but its showing some solid support right now. As the general market is concerned about inflation and unemployment moving higher, some investors seems to be moving into Bitcoin.

Analysts have pointed out that BTC price appears to be “decoupling” from stocks recent downturn. Bitcoin has been somewhat steady around $82,000, and as US equities markets collapsed today Bitcoin actually rallied and hit $84,720, which is a positive sight to see.

PayPal has expanded its crypto offerings to now offer Solana (SOL) and Chainlink (LINK). This will now give US customers the ability to buy, sell and transfer these coins. SOL and LINK will be rolled out over the next few weeks. PayPal has 428 millions accounts globally as of December with the majority in the US. Paypal crypto services are available in the US and they are expanding its crypto offerings in response to growing consumer demand, according to May Zabaneh, an executive in PayPal’s crypto and blockchain division. “Offering more tokens on PayPal and Venmo provides users with greater flexibility, choice, and access to digital currencies,” she said.

Fidelity Offers Fee Free Crypto IRA

Fidelity Investments plans to launch a crypto IRA with zero-fees The IRA will allow investors to purchase cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC).  Only US citizens over 18 who reside in states where Fidelity Digital Assets supports crypto IRAs will have access. Fidelity stated that opening and maintaining the Crypto IRA, as well as associated custody services for digital assets, will be free. However, a trading fee will apply a 1% spread to buy and sell orders.
